INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION FOR PIANO SOLO AND PIANO DUO

Introduction

Due to numerous requests, the application deadline for the Piano Competition Online (PCO) has been extended by one week.

You can now apply until 9 February, end of day (CET).

PCO is open worldwide to classical solo pianists and piano duos, with no age limit, and held 100% online.
You may compete in your Main Category and optionally add Expert Categories that fit your program.

The PCO is open to classical solo pianists and piano duos (four-hands or two pianos), worldwide.

Since 2020, our initiative has moved beyond its original focus on early-career support for young musicians, answering a clear need for opportunities that are quicker, more streamlined, and more affordable—without compromising artistic excellence.

In response, we created a fully online piano competition that welcomes participants from anywhere in the world. Musicians can compete from their own homes, schools, or studios, eliminating travel costs and visa hurdles while opening the door to truly global participation.

The competition is conducted entirely online: performances are submitted as high-quality video recordings and evaluated by an international jury using transparent criteria. Clear timelines, streamlined application procedures, and accessible fees ensure a smooth experience for participants. Award announcements and certificates are delivered digitally, and optional juror feedback helps performers understand their strengths and next steps.

By combining rigorous adjudication with an inclusive, technology-driven format, our initiative offers pianists a practical path to international recognition—quickly, fairly, and from anywhere.

Trust

For the 13th time, the PCO is being held and has already welcomed more than 1000 participants from over 67 countries. Many of them were awarded top prizes such as cash scholarships, interviews in Maestro Magazine or live concerts.

Quality

Attending a PCO is a guarantee that you will be fully listened to and professionally assessed. The PCO is also a valuable source of insightful feedback – a report from experienced performers and pedagogues on your musical development.

Innovation

PCO is a competition with an innovative and convenient online audition format. All you have to do is record your performance and submit it via a simple application form. This is a time and money saving solution as there is no need for travel or accommodation.
